Burton Cummings

started his career in Winnipeg when he was a  teenager singing for The Devrons.  When The Guess Who were searching for a new singer in 1966, Cummings who also played keyboards joined the band.  Their first hit song was "These Eyes", but it wouldn't be their last.  The Guess Who are probably one of the most widely known Canadian rock and roll acts, and their smash hit "American Woman" has reached rock classic status, even being covered by contemporary artist Lenny Kravitz.  Cummings has also released several successful solo albums well into the late 90's.
