Announcing! our New Discussion Board,
where you can nominate a new famous Canadian or debate an old one.

William B. Davis

is best known as CSM, or Cigarette Smoking Man, aka Cancer Man on the Fox series the X-Files.  his character, along with Nicholas Lea's Alex Krycek, are two of the most interesting villains ever to appear on TV.  What sets CSM apart from other arch nemeses is the sympathy we feel for his character. Davis plays pathos like a pro, and he also knows when to turn up the ruthlessness.  In real life, William B. Davis is a reformed smoker, and his face is more often occupied by a smile than by a frown.  He is currently Director of the William Davis Centre for Actors' Study in Vancouver, B.C., where he teaches classes whenever time permits.  Davis is also an avid sportsman, having participated in various Skiing, and Water-skiing competitions.  Oh, and the "Morley" cigarettes he smokes on the show aren't real, they're made of a special nicotine free herbal blend.
