| is the first Canadian astronaut to fly three space missions. He once sailed across the Atlantic in a 59-foot yawl with 12 other crewmembers, but that was back in the early 70s; now Marc Garneau navigates". In 1984, he flew an 8 day mission aboard Space Shuttle Challenger, picked from a list of 4000 applicants, this was followed by a mission on Space Shuttle Endeavor in 1996, and again in 2000. Other Canadian Astronauts include Julie Payette, and Roberta Bondar. | ![]() |
