Greg Moore

began racing karts at the age of 10, and went on to win the North American Enduro KART Championship in 1989 and again in 1990; he was only 15...  One year later,
he graduated to Formula Ford cars, he was named Esso Protec Formula Ford 1600 Rookie of the Year, was the USAC Formula 2000 West Champion and Rookie of the Year.  Greg, who was also the youngest driver in the history of Indy car competition, had won 5 Indy car races.  Alas, Greg Moore's last honors were awarded posthumously, the
24 year old driver having died in a car crash while participating in a CART race in Fontana, California, on October 31st, 1999.  Moore was to receive the Jack Diamond "Sports Personality of the Year" award.
