| In 1900, Guglielmo Marconi successfully received a wireless transmission from England via his invention, the Wireless Telegraph. It was a historical moment; the first ever transmission of its type to be made. Shortly thereafter, he founded The Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company, in London, and went on to install wireless transmitters for the navies of Britain, Italy, Germany, and France, and more importantly, the U.S. Navy. After much trial and error, he was able to implement the transmission and reception systems, becoming yet another great inventor to distinguish himself while living in Canada. Incidentally, one such other genius, Alexander Graham Bell, was skeptical of Marconi's results... |
