Maurice Richard

is the famous Number 9 of the Canadiens hockey team who won the Hart, and Lou Marsh awards, and is an inductee of the Hockey Hall of Fame. He is perhaps one of the most legendary hockey players ever to grace the ice, having set a large number of records for the sport which have garnered him the name Maurice "The Rocket" Richard. He passed away in the year 2000, an event which had as much of an impact for hockey fans around the world, as would the passing of a great political figure.
