| was perhaps the most controversial writer-journalists ever to emerge from Canadian literary culture. Mr. Richler's acerbic political views have attracted many a negative comment from Quebeccers, and Canadian Nationalists, but isn't that a good sign? After all, the world would be a boring place if it weren't for those who once in a while, disturb the peace (or otter matters) for our reflection and amusement. Mordecai Richler was also the recipient of 2 Governor General awards, and a Screen Actor's Guild Award amongst others. He is perhaps best know to the movie-going public for the adaptation of his novel "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz", which starred Richard Dreyfus, and "Joshua, Then and Now", starring James Woods. |  |
