Robbie Robertson

is the recording artist whose first encounter with music came during a First Nations Reservation.  In 1958, he joined Rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins' backing group before he would later form "The Band" with his fellow "Hawks" sidemen.  "The Band" was the subject of Martin Scorcese's film "The Last Waltz", which documented what was to be their final tour.  Since then, Robbie Robertson has enjoyed a successful solo career, and performed guest spots on albums from luminaries Peter Gabriel, and U2. Robbie Robertson also scored the 1980 classic Martin Scorcese film "Raging Bull".
