Dave Thomas

is not the founder of Wendy's, he's the comedian who got his start on the "David Steinberg Show", which was followed by that hotbed of comedic brilliance; SCTV. Dave's most memorable TV character was the beer guzzling Uber-Canuck "Doug McKenzie" from SCTV's "Great White North", a sketch which was created in response to pressure from the CRTC to have more Canadian content on SCTV. The sketch featured Thomas and Rick Moranis acting out the worst stereotypical behavior Canadians have to offer was so popular, that a movie entitled "Strange Brew", featuring the McKenzie Brothers was made, and its stars where given the Order of Canada for their achievements in promoting Canadian Culture , Dave Tomas also starred as"Russell Norton" on the ABC sitcom "Grace Under Fire".
